Daredevil Season 3: 20 Easter Eggs & References Explained

20. The "Classic" MCU Superhero Disguise

In the season's second episode, Matt (Charlie Cox) decides to go "incognito" by donning a jacket, baseball cap and his usual sunglasses, in what's surely a nod to one of the MCU's most persistent and most absurd tropes to date.

Whenever a superhero needs to lie low, they'll typically don some combination of a baseball cap, glasses and a frumpy jacket.

This was the case in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, and was memorably ribbed in Ant-Man and the Wasp earlier this year ("We look like ourselves at a baseball game.")

It's a charming enough trope, silly though it is, so it's fun to see Daredevil once again pulling it out with no shame whatsoever.
