9. It Still Has Some Of The First Series' Weaknesses

Speaking of pacing, Denofgeek's Mike Cecchini makes mention of this as one of the first series' main weaknesses, in fact they single it out as series 1's 'biggest flaw' and that unfortunately series 2 is also guilty of some pacing issues. The same review also takes issue with some of the dialogue, specifically with it being 'overwritten, overwrought and in long chunks'. They do counter argue that sometimes this is 'expository' but suggest that sometimes 'it feels like these characters just want to hear themselves talk'. This is a pertinent point to make, but honestly this is something of a weakness across the comic book movie genre. Sometimes dialogue that would work in a comic book (or would often be inside a thought balloon) does not always transition well to live action. In any case, it feels like a small criticism that is hardly fatal.
