Daredevil TV Show: 10 Things It Can Finally Get Right

1. You Will See The Man Behind The Mask

Matt Murdock is a fascinating character. He is an idealistic yet pragmatic lawyer who defends his community in both his private life and as his superhero persona. The 2003 film struggled to get us really attached to the man behind the red mask. One of the benefits of the thirteen episode series is that it gives more than enough time to explore characters and develop them as three dimensional people. The Matt Murdock that we saw in the movie was little more than the alter ego of the titular hero; with this show it looks like Marvel intend to explore the actual character. Likewise Karen Page, who will inevitably be the love interest for Matt Murdock, will develop into her own character, not a hollow character to create a false romantic dynamic. Foggy Nelson, the friend and law partner of Matt Murdock will also be appearing, and presumably other characters will be slowly introduced, giving the show a depth that has been lacking in other Marvel properties, even Agents of SHIELD. This isn€™t just going to be thirteen hours of seeing Daredevil fight. Marvel seem to have put a lot of effort into the project, and it looks like they will be able to reap the rewards. This series looks like it will truly rectify many of the problems that plagued the 2003 movie. What else needs fixing from the abysmal movie? Why else should you be excited about this series?
