DC's Legends Of Tomorrow: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After 'Blood Ties'

2. What Are The Rules Of Time-Travel?

The Flash and now Legends of Tomorrow have both utilised time-travel, but there often seems to be some sort of 'make-it-up-when-necessary' approach to the rules of it, although admittedly that applies more to The Flash than Legends at this early stage. The accepted rule of this show, though, is that they can't do anything that would change the future - no major shifts to the timeline. Despite this, Captain Cold goes ahead and steals the emerald for his father, which would mean he doesn't go to jail, and that would dramatically alter the person he is. Only, it doesn't work, and his father still goes to jail. Wy not isn't exactly clear. Time apparently just really wanted Snart senior to go to jail, so despite his son's best efforts, it happened, thus conveniently keeping the timeline unaltered. Now that the show is actually getting into a bit more time-travelling from next week, it's going to have to make sure it has some consistency with the rules, given how crucial it is to the plot.
