DC's Legends Of Tomorrow: 10 Things We Learned From The First Look
9. Ray Palmer Survived
Ray Palmer (played by Brandon Routh) had a tough first year in The CW’s DC universe after his introduction on Arrow in the third season premiere. Inorganically forced into a love triangle that placed him in the unenviable position of obstructing the show’s power couple, his origin story crammed into a season that was supposed to be about the protagonist’s identity crisis was not welcome to many fans.
Fortunately, Ray Palmer’s character became markedly more enjoyable in the latter part of the season as he finally began to feel incorporated rather than inserted. When last seen in the Season 3 finale, however, the entire top floor of Palmer Technologies exploded into his face.
Now, considering that the bouncy music didn’t skip a beat and this end would be underwhelming for even as divisive a character as Ray Palmer, it did look as though that would be the end for him. As evident in the first look, however, Ray not only survived the blast…but he got superpowers out of the deal as well. It will remain to be seen whether or not shrinking is a terribly helpful superpower, but at least we now know that he won’t need to be resurrected to test it out.
