DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1: 6 Ups And 6 Downs From 'The Magnificent Eight
8. H.G. Wells
Another entry, another downer, and another one focussed on the over-convenience of certain elements of Legends of Tomorrow. Yes, I’m talking about the big reveal that the poor sick boy who Martin Stein took a shine to and brought back to health was none other than Hubert George Wells, as in H.G. Wells, the author of such classics as The War of the Worlds and The Island of Doctor Moreau.
So, if it wasn’t for Stein’s medical assistance then the legendary Wells would never have come to be and become one of the literary greats? Okay then…
It would’ve been fine to have Professor Stein help out a generic young boy – that would’ve put home the exact same points in terms of the episode-long arc of Stein – but it felt like a bit of a slap in the face to have said young scamp revealed to be such a major figure.
