DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 1: 6 Ups And 6 Downs From 'The Magnificent Eight

7. The Pilgrim Means Nothing

Legends of Tomorrow Pilgrim

As The Magnificent Eight drew to a close, we heard how a cold, calculating and clinical rogue was on the way in the form of The Pilgrim. This nefarious time-traveller is going to be going back in time to kill our Legends when they’re just mere whippersnappers.

Sounds pretty daunting, right?

Well, The Pilgrim would sound ominous and scary bar the fact that Legends of Tomorrow has essentially neutered any and all villains who have come along so far.

Chronos was built up as a huge deal, only to then be revealed to be Mick Rory and to then get rehabilitated. In this very episode came the fear-inducing Hunters, a team who Rory himself had talked up as this no-nonsense group who would cause all kinds of chaos for our Legends… only they were dispatched with far too much ease and were seemingly a one-and-done presence in the show.

So, what exactly makes The Pilgrim such a threat? After all, both Chronos and The Hunters were built up as huge deals, only to have their legs taken out from under them. As such, it’s hard to get excited about the prospect of The Pilgrim being anything but a villain-of-the-week sort who offers no real consequences for out titular team.
