DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Season 4 Finale: What Does The Ending Really Mean?

1. Meet The New Legend

Legends of Tomorrow Behrad Tomaz
The CW

As Nate Heywood desperately held onto Zari in the hope that the timeline changes wouldn't affect her, he soon found himself hugging, well, somebody else. Pulling away, he came face-to-face with a male stranger and, in one of the finale's most interesting developments, he actually recognised this new face. Apologising for the overly affectionate embrace, he simply referred to the newbie by his name: Behrad. In that moment, all became clear.

With the timeline now officially altered, Zari's brother was never killed by A.R.G.U.S. and, as a result, he maintained possession of the Air Totem and even ended up joining the Legends - essentially taking his sister's place in history. Much like when Barry Allen created the Flashpoint timeline (and accidentally substituted John Diggle's daughter with a son instead), Zari's actions have had a drastic effect on everyone around her and, since she was the one who made it happen, there is nobody else left to remember her as she was.

Due to this, the Legends have no recollection of how things once were, only recognising how they are now. That means that, as far they're concerned, Behrad has always been a part of the team - just as he isn't aware of the fact that he once lost his life in a post-apocalyptic world.

Guess we'll all be getting to know Behrad a lot better next season - let's just hope that we finally get some much-needed scenes between him and his sister.
