Dexter: 10 Unresolved Plot Threads The Revival Must Address

8. Did Dexter Keep Killing?

In the series finale, it was bizarrely revealed that Dexter somehow faked his death, and is now living under an assumed identity, working for a lumber company in Oregon. The prevailing theory is that he survived his suicide attempt or decided that a greater punishment would be to give up his life and those he loved to make amends for what happened to Debra.

It was an unsatisfying conclusion, but one this revival can now make up for. Regardless, it's impossible to imagine that Dexter was able to go cold turkey and not continue killing.

As a lumberjack, he no longer has access to a police station, and if he has continued taking out those he believes deserve to pay, it can't have been easy (the way technology has advanced may have helped, of course). He may or may not have stuck to Harry's Code, but his desire and impulse to kill can't have just vanished since he was last seen.

Needless to say, it would be a major disappointment for the first episode of the new season to pick up with him still chopping up trees and nothing having happened in his life in the past seven plus years!
