Doctor Who: 10 Biggest What Ifs

10. What If The Zygons And The Humans Didn't Negotiate The Perfect Treaty?

Zygon It's one of the bugs of 'The Day of the Doctor', for an awful lot of fans. It's understandable that Steven Moffat glossed over the details of how the Zygons and the humans negotiated the peace treaty, but what if he's saving tying up that story for another episode? Firstly, there's the clue that the Doctor claimed that the treaty would result in "peace in our time"; Neville Chamberlain used the same words in relation to the Nazis, and look how that ended. Moffat's no stranger to World War II, and he'd have been well aware of the connotations of that phrase: are the Zygons coming back soon? Perhaps Series 8 will start in a similar fashion to 'Bad Wolf'; the Doctor looking over a world that he caused, trying to fix it. Or perhaps, we'll never find out how the details of the treaty. One hopes that we got some shape-shifting technology out of the deal though.
