Doctor Who: 10 Biggest What Ifs

5. What If The Valeyard's Still Out There?

Doctor Who - The Valeyard It's still a constant theory, even thirty years after the Valeyard hit our screens. Is he still going to happen? Is he in fact Peter Capaldi? We know that he falls somewhere between the twelfth and thirteenth life of the Doctor, and let's face it, that space has been somewhat blurred this year. We thought Matt Smith was the Eleventh incarnation of the man, but it turns out he's actually the Twelfth, and then there might have been an incarnation used elsewhere in 'The Stolen Earth'. But he's still the Eleventh Doctor. It's enough to give you a Master-like headache. But given the uncertainty of what's what, what if the Valeyard is still out there? What if he returns one day? It could be metaphorical, that he exists between the penultimate and last incarnation of this particular Time Lord. Or could there be another John Hurt-shaped hole there somewhere, and a timey-wimey excuse? Anything's possible. Including audio stories (again, wink wink, BBC).
