1. An Eccleston Series 2? (And 3? Please?)
He's often cited as "My Doctor" by children of the 90s, and only planning to do one series is the go-to reason for Christopher Eccleston leaving, along with the disagreements that the actor had with the various production staff. But what if Nine had appeared for another series or two, and become so many more people's Doctor? Firstly, it's not certain that Rose would've fallen in love with the Doctor if he'd had stayed a 45-year-old, grumpy Northerner. Then there's the thought of Nine fighting Cybermen, whether he'd have had the same spark with Madame Pompadour and what he would've said to Peter Kay's Absorbaloff. Let your imagination run a little wilder, and there's the possibility of Derek Jacobi's Master facing Eccleston, and fellow Mancunian John Simm battling him would've been spectacular, too. As would an episode with Nine and the Weeping Angels. Some might say that Series 1 was the best we've had since the reboot. And some might say there's no way Christopher Eccleston would've stayed longer. But it would've been amazing, wouldn't it?
