Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Why We Need A War Doctor Spin-Off

2. Time Lord Corruption

David Tennant's Doctor feared what the Time Lords had become during the last days of the Time War - a race hellbent on ensuring their own survival by any means necessary. What was the turning point? What made the almighty and wise Time Lords become a dark and sinister race, capable of repulsing even the Doctor? This creates quite a significant story arc for the War Doctor spin-off to follow; the collapse and corruption of Time Lord civilisation. The Doctor's relationship with the Time Lords has been turbulent at best over the long years, but how would a darker incarnation of the Doctor deal with Time Lord treachery during the biggest in their history? I have my money on 'not very well'. Doctor Who series 8 may just see the Time Lords return, following on from the events of The Day of the Doctor and The Time of the Doctor. As of yet, we know very little about how these post-war Time Lords will behave. The War Doctor may have had confrontations with some of the Time Lords, particularly those close to Rassilon, and the grudge may have stuck. There is definitely scope for a War Doctor spin-off coming along to prepare us for the Gallifrey returning.
