6. Expand Your Doctor Who World with the Novels
I cannot say that I have read any of the novels, yet, but if you are looking to explore even deeper into Doctor Who mythology and universe than literature will always be your best bet. For decades the television serials, and beyond, have been novelized for fans to further enjoy the adventures of the Doctor and his companions. When it comes to the written word as a medium, as compared to a television show that is limited in time, the environment of a book can reach further than any imagination can anticipate, thus giving fans a richer and deeper story that could have never been told in any episode alone. But if you want to dig far into the Doctor Who lore, I recommend reading the visual dictionaries and Whovian encyclopedias. How about discovering the philosophy of Doctor Who? Maybe even take a few items from the unofficial Doctor Who cookbook. Yes, that seems to be out there somewhere. There are my personal favorites, the Doctor Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation crossovers. The best of both worlds. Granted, none of us will have the time to devour too many books from cover-to-cover in the next few days, but it does not hurt to go to a local shop, pick up a book, and enjoy. Allons-y!
