Doctor Who: 6 Time Lords We Want Back (And The Actors Who Should Play Them!)
2. Rassilon, A Founder Of Time Lord Society Rassilon, along with Omega and possibly someone named the Other, was one of the major founders of Time Lord society. Originally held up as a great and glorious figure with no flaws we have, over the years, learned he might not have been all that pleasant of a fellow. Indeed, his one and only appearance in the new series, where he was played by Timothy Dalton, showed him to be a maniacal, evil sort of man who killed anyone who disagreed with him. Certainly he'd gone several steps down the path of darkness, and I suspect if we ever see him again, he'll be darker still. Who Should Play Him: Ok, this is a horrible in-joke, but I can't resist it, and I think the actor I've picked would actually do quite well with the role. So who do I think should follow Timothy Dalton and play Rassilon in a regenerated form? Who else? Pierce Brosnan. Now hear me out. Yes, you. Stop rolling your eyes. I think he's a good choice. Yes, clearly there's a joke here because James Bond, but beyond that, I think Brosnan is a fine actor who could imbue the character with a certain sense of sophistication that would, like a velvet wrapping over a hammer, cover up the treat that lies within. I could see him as a version of Rassilon that is pleasant, polite and conciliatory while at the same time working to undermine whatever plans the Doctor and the High Council have. I could especially see him in a scene where he's almost able to talk everyone, including the Doctor, around to his position, before finally losing it and attacking everyone. I really think Brosnan could play this character well, thus making this more than just a joke concept, though it would be a fairly amusing joke concept, especially if Daniel Craig wanted to be on the show a few years later...
