Doctor Who: All 85 Revival Era Stories Ranked

A quick look at every episode since the Doctor came roaring back onto our screens in 2005.

Doctor Who New 3 Doctors It will be nine years next month since Doctor Who was relaunched from a science-fiction legend into a television blockbuster, led by a sensibly-dressed, shaven-headed Ninth Doctor. And what a journey we've been on since; it's been an intergalactic delve into survivor's guilt, the changing faces of an alien, and what it means to be human. Our eyes have been opened to the wonders of the universe, this past near-decade; we've seen everything in Doctor Who, the good, the bad and the ugly, and for as many episodes that held our attention with majestic storytelling, there have been episodes we've probably not seen since. It's almost impossible to give a complete and honest definitive list of New Who's worst episodes, right up to their best ones, but that won't stop us trying. Here's all 85 Doctor Who stories since 2005 ranked from the worst one to the best. Do you agree? Comment below!

85. The Curse Of The Black Spot

A lifeless pirate story in which not even the Doctor hasn't got a clue what's going on; Doctor Who's nothing if it's not exciting and this is easily the dullest story of the revival's back-catalogue.

84. Daleks In Manhattan / Evolution Of The Daleks

Such a great idea in theory, but everything about that Dalek-human hybrid is ridiculous, right down to his acting. Also holds the record for the worst reaction to a Dalek: well done, Tallulah.

83. The Long Game

A precursor to the Series 1 finale, 'The Long Game' boasts Simon Pegg as an icy villain, but never finds its feet. Adam Mitchell's dumped by the Doctor for telling the bad guys everything about the TARDIS via a portal in his forehead.

82. The Runaway Bride

Catherine Tate's first story in Doctor Who is a tale of the Doctor drowning a load of baby spiders: happy Christmas!

81. Love & Monsters

'Love & Monsters' is doing so well up until the horrible last ten minutes: it really never is okay for a family show to imply sexual acts between a character and a paving slab.
