1. We Wouldn't Like: To Hear The Answer To Doctor Who
Despite the excitement of finally seeing the Time War and the Doctor's part in it, I'm also wary of seeing too much. One of the best things about Doctor Who is precisely that Who? This question has been the running theme, and the tiny glimpses we get of the answer are far more exciting and rewarding than if we actually found out his name. For example, when the Madam de Pompadour reads the Doctor's mind she asks; 'Doctor Who? It's more than just a secret isn't it?' Similarly, when Riversong first appears in Forest of the Dead, she whispers something into the Doctor's ear apparently his name the Doctor replies that there is only one reason he would reveal his name and only one time he could. These snippets fuel fan speculation and discussion for years at a time and create an engagement in the programme that few other TV shows can claim. The likelihood of finding out the Doctor's name is, of course, almost non-existent. If they did that, it would pretty much be the end. However, on the same theme, neither do we want all the other questions answered. The Doctor's charm is that he's a mysterious man in a box who you couldn't possibly begin to fully know. If get all the answers on Saturday, if we finally see behind the curtain, what will be left to discover? 50 years he's kept his secrets. Lets hope he keeps them for 50 more.
