Apart from the Twelfth Doctor, this year there will be two new faces joining the Doctor Who family as recurring characters in the form of Coal Hill School teacher Danny Pink (Samuel Anderson) and student Courtney (Ellis George). A character implied by Anderson to be Dannys younger sister. Danny will appear in Episode 4 and most likely Episode 6 which is set at Coal Hill while Courtney will appear in Episode 6 and join the Doctor and Clara for an adventure in Peter Harness Episode 7. Although it seems that scenes where the Doctor, Clara, Danny, and Courtney all appear together will be few and far between, its interesting to note that (however briefly), the programme will be returning to the same set of characters as at the beginning. An older and darker Doctor, two Coal Hill teachers, and a Coal Hill student related to one of the adult characters. Although this would most likely be a small homage to how the programme began, it wouldnt be out of the question for Moffat to be testing it out as something longer term for the future. Especially since 2013s episodes had the most intensive references to the Classic Series ever and brought everything full circle with the restoration of Gallifrey and a new set of Regenerations for the Doctor.
