Doctor Who: 10 Best Episodes Of The Last 10 Years

1. The Day Of The Doctor (2013)

Dr Who Doctors Gallifrey
BBC

Doctor Who's 50th anniversary special was the most anticipated episode of 2013 and it delivered a story that completely changed everything we knew. It saw the Tenth and Eleventh Doctors team up during an attempted Zygon invasion of Earth, but the real focus was the Time War and the War Doctor, a previously unknown regeneration. Faced with the decision to use the Moment, the most powerful weapon in existence, to annihilate both the Time Lords and the Daleks, the War Doctor knew it was the only way to end the Time War. But the Moment, a sentient weapon, used her power to show him how it would be a decision he would regret for the rest of his life.

When the show returned in 2005, the biggest change was the destruction of Gallifrey. The Doctor's home planet, a background presence in the classic series, was now gone. The Day of the Doctor forced the Doctor to face his darkest day, but it showed us that on that day, the Doctor was not the monster he had imagined himself to be for all those years. It gave hope to the man who had spent his life giving hope to others.

Those were our picks for the 10 best episodes of NuWho to date. What are yours? Let us know in the comments section below!
