7. Trisha Goddard (Army Of Ghosts)
Once again the Doctor was the latecomer to the party (can you see a pattern emerging here?) in the Series 2 finale. He took Rose home to visit her mum - and to do her washing - only to discover that the human race had been enjoying visits from mysterious ghost-like figures and it didn't take the Time Lord long to reach the conclusion that had already outstayed their welcome. Spoil sport. Unsurprisingly the whole world was talking about it and you only had to flick through the TV channels to see that. One of the shows which helped to affirm the new found significance that these ghostly beings had obtained on society, in the form of a handy montage, was a comical parody of The Trisha Goddard Show which featured an emotional guest who claimed to actually be in love with one. 24/7, actually. However that works. For those of you who don't know, Trisha used to brighten up morning television by fixing all the outlandish family feuds, confrontations and reconciliations that are now the responsibility of Jeremy Kyle but it's safe to say that this ghost storyline is one of the more realistic problems to have made its way on to the talk show. It's a shame fans never got to see a follow up edition really but seeing as the ghosts were actually Cybermen, the love story probably didn't end all that well. Whatever tickles you pickle.
