Doctor Who: 10 Celebrity Cameos From The Revived Series
4. Davina McCall (Bad Wolf)
Remember that aforementioned tradition of including celebrity cameos in each Doctor Who finale? Well this is where it all began. When the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack landed on the Game Station in the year 200,000 they each found themselves caught up - and in Rose's case, fighting to the very death - as part a killer gameshow and for the titular Time Lord it was a futuristic version of Big Brother. Because what else could that chair have been? Apart from a humungous jelly baby. This was still Doctor Who, though, and as such it was no ordinary Big Brother. In what can only be described as taking things to the extreme, the contestants in this one were actually disintegrated upon their eviction from the house. Maybe the reality show should adopt something like that for the new series? Ofcom would have a field day. The Daleks were behind it, of course, so the merciless killings make sense but it wouldn't have been Big Brother without including its then-presenter Davina McCall - although here she was 'Davinadroid', naturally - who lent her voice to inform the Doctor that he was live on Channel 44,000 and that he shouldn't swear. So viewers are quite happy to vote for, and then watch, the execution of their least favourite housemates but swearing is still strictly taboo? Actually, that sounds about right.
