Doctor Who: 10 Characters From Other TV Shows Who Would Make Great Companions

1. Sheldon Cooper €“ The Big Bang Theory

sheldon Any fan of The Big Bang Theory and Doctor Who has probably pondered what Sheldon would be like in the TARDIS. His career in physics and love of science-fiction has certainly made him a fan of time travel. He€™d surely love the Doctor to take him around the universe €“ if he could stop panicking about alien germs long enough to get out of the TARDIS. One issue that might cause problems is that Sheldon is a bit of a coward. The Doctor€™s companion is supposed to be brave and selfless: they have to step up and sacrifice themselves in times of need. This could be an issue for Sheldon, who relies on his friends to do everything for him. Despite wanting to be a superhero, it€™s rare that Sheldon wants to step up and do the right thing. However, he always sees sense and pulls through, even if he does complain about it. It would be easy for the Doctor to make Sheldon help out (as long as it didn€™t involve sports), for Sheldon would constantly be trying to prove that he had the greater mind of the two. He wouldn€™t be able to boast about his Ph.D or on-going research because the Doctor would have lived it, so he€™d have to do something impressive to show that he was just as good, if not better. Failing that, the Doctor could just threaten to call Sheldon€™s mother. Once this obstacle has been overcome, the pair would be brilliant together. Sheldon could simply irritate the aliens away by over explaining something trivial, while the Doctor runs around and does all the cool things he usually does. Plus, we wouldn€™t have to deal with another companion falling for the Doctor €“ Sheldon doesn€™t even fancy his girlfriend.
