8. Why Did The TARDIS Hate Clara?
In the early episodes of season 7, there is a running gag that the TARDIS has a dislike for the Eleventh Doctor's latest companion, Clara Oswald. In 'Hide', the time machine even refuses to let Clara in to help the Doctor until after she pleads with the blue box. So what was the cause of the TARDIS' attitude problem?
Well, we've no clue. After a short while, these references dried up and the reason was never explained on screen. We can infer that the TARDIS perhaps didn't like that Clara was a complicated space/time event - as she was splintered throughout the Doctor's time stream in season 7 finale 'The Name of the Doctor.' The ship previously had a similar reaction to Captain Jack Harkness back in season 3, after all.
If that's the case, though, why does the TARDIS eventually shelve its hatred of Clara and treat her much the same way it does every companion?
