Doctor Who: 10 More Actresses Who Could Play The 12th Doctor

8. Olivia Colman

Olivia Coleman

Her Companion: Paddy Considine Regularly appearing in films and television together Olivia Coleman and Paddy Considine might want a break from each other but we certainly don't want to see them split up. After starring in his surprisingly successful film Tyrannosaur we know that the two must have a certain understanding after having worked in an actor/ director relationship. I view Paddy's companion as a Donna Noble-esque type figure. Perhaps recently divorced and redundant he finds himself at a loose end in the world. That is until the Doctor meets him. Her Master: Tilda Swinton The connection I made here was one mainly based on looks. I think both actresses have eyes that almost don't fit with their faces. Besides that tenuous link, however I do think that Tilda Swinton is a brilliant actress, born to consort with evil and the confrontation between the two would be explosive. Her Doctor Olivia Coleman, now a media darling due to her involvement with hit television series Broadchurch would be ideal casting for the part, were she a man. She has been acting on British television screens for so many years now in the likes of Peep Show, Green Wing and Skins its amazing she wasn't already a household name. A complement though as she displays so easily her ability to go from world - weary in the likes of the later Peep Shows to flaky and care free in Skins. She is an actress of such a high standard that she could easily pull off a role like the Doctor.
