7. Douglas Adams Submitted A Story Exactly Like The Ark in Space While It Was Being Made.

Ark In Space Adams had always been passionate about the show since he was young and would later go on to write some of the series€™ most famous stories such as Shada and City of Death. However, in 1974, when he was still a down on his look writer, Adams submitted a storyline in which the upper class members of society lived in an ark in space. However, as Robert Holmes, the script editor of the program was already writing such a story and it was rejected. Adams later worked the storyline into his Hitchhiker€™s Guide to the Galaxy. Adams later submitted a story in which The Fourth Doctor would arrive on a planet which was literally eating other planets and robbing them of their precious metals. This story was accepted and broadcast in 1978 as part of The Key To Time season
