Doctor Who: 10 Problems With Revolution Of The Daleks

4. Bringing The Daleks To Earth

Also questionable were the Doctor's motives of bringing the Daleks to Earth. Without a second thought or any real protest, the Doctor decided to summon a ruthless group of 'SAS Daleks' to the planet to combat the new 'impure' models.

An entirely reckless move, this plan was held in place by the slight chance that these Daleks didn't realise it was the Doctor who had contacted them. However, almost immediately after their arrival, the Doctor parked the TARDIS right beside a battleground between the two factions. Fully aware of the Doctor's ship, this was probably not a good idea.

In general, the Doctor deciding to risk the entire planet by subjugating it to a more ruthless branch of Daleks seems entirely out of character. The Ninth Doctor undertook a huge moral dilemma in 2005's The Parting of the Ways when he had to decide on letting the Daleks invade the Earth or kill all of its inhabitants and Daleks together. He couldn't go through with sacrificing the planet, something he had to do to his own planet during the Time War, but refused to let the Daleks invade either.

There's no similar moral dilemma in this episode, only a 'whoops' moment by the Doctor who doesn't seem to realise what an awful mistake she's made.
