Doctor Who: 10 Problems With Revolution Of The Daleks
2. Forgetful Humans
Despite countless invasions and incursions throughout Doctor Who history, the human race has apparently forgotten about the Daleks.
In the episode, the Daleks integrate themselves into society as Defence Drones under the orders of the new prime minister, who is seemingly unaware that the Daleks killed one of her predecessors, Harriet Jones, or that Winston Churchill utilised them in WWII.
Indeed, the entire human race has no recollection of being invaded by the Daleks at least twice in NuWho - in 2008's The Stolen Earth/Journey's End, where Captain Jack battled to save the Earth from Davros' Reality Bomb, or in 2007's Army of Ghosts/Doomsday. This glaring continuity error is made even more problematic when Captain Jack referenced the events of that particular two-parter - Rose Tyler's entrapment in the parallel world - within Revolution of the Daleks itself. However, no reference is made to the Daleks who helped put her there.
Revolution relies heavily on the public not knowing who the Daleks are, but the Daleks' legacy on humanity has been key to numerous storylines. 2009's The Waters of Mars showed how the 2008 Dalek Invasion inspired Adelaide Brooke to travel to the stars, and 2017's The Doctor Falls saw the Twelfth Doctor recalling the events of Doomsday.
There's no in-universe reason as to why the Daleks have been exterminated from the public conscience, so this entry should just be considered careless continuity and lazy writing.
