2. There Are Still Many Unanswered Questions
This was always the danger about having multi-series arcs. A change of actors always results in a spanner in the works. Now perhaps Moffat will be able to resolve the ongoing mysteries surrounding the Eleventh Doctor in the 50th and Christmas specials. Perhaps some of these mysteries will follow into the Twelfth Doctors reign. And thats the joy of Doctor Who; you can replace the lead actor and continue. That being said, heres a list of ongoing mysteries that require explanation. (And feel free to comment if you think Ive missed the answers) Who blew up the Tardis? Was it the Silence from series 6? Perhaps, but its not been made explicitly clear. The Silence wanted the Doctor to die. Why? Is it all about Trenzalore, and if so, will those events take place in the Christmas Special? Did the Silence build the Tardis on top of Craigs flat in The Lodger? If not, who was responsible for the events that took place? Why did the Doctor invite Canton Dellaware III to his death in The Impossible Astronaut? We havent seen him since the concluding two-parter Day Of The Moon and yet his presence implied that he was as important to the Doctor as Amy, Rory and River. Why cant that question be asked? What is Trenzalore? We know it involves the Doctors Death, but The Name Of The Doctor implied it would be the final Doctors death. (13th?) Come to think about it, would this imply that the universe now knows the Doctor didnt die at Lake Silencio? Or are the Silence still ignorant to this? Im sure there are more, and maybe the first one is answered. I think for me, the important thing is for Moffat to answer all these questions before he moves on.
