Doctor Who: 10 Stories You Must Rewatch After The Power Of The Doctor

One of the many high points of The Power of the Doctor was the return of Ace's jacket, along with her baseball bat and the legendary Nitro-9 - which the Doctor was never very fond of.

Before being used to blow up the Daleks in the volcano, both the Nitro-9 and Ace's Dalek-destroying baseball bat made a great appearance in 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks. Throughout this story there are two factions of Daleks - the Imperial and Renegade Daleks - which the Seventh Doctor, in an ultimate power move, subtly plays off each other to arrive at his desired end goal.

At the beginning of the story, Ace uses her legendary Nitro-9 to blow up a Dalek, with the explosion being so powerful that it nearly takes out the Doctor as well. Then, later in the serial, as she is attacked by a Dalek, Ace uses her supercharged baseball bat to destroy it before escaping.

The fan service levels were through the roof in The Power of the Doctor, particularly when Ace almost exactly recreated the iconic Dalek baseball bat destruction scene.
