Doctor Who: 10 Things That STILL Don't Make Sense

7. A Time Machine That Needs Time

The TARDIS is the be-all-and-end-all of universal travel. Access to all of time and space, unlimited internal storage, impenetrable walls, and, of course, ketchup and mustard dispensers. It's the sports car of time machines.

One feature of the TARDIS that’s bound to appeal to literally anyone who has spent even one hour waiting for a plane to taxi to the runway is the fact that it doesn’t just open doors to all these weird and wonderful places, but that it does so in an instant.

That is, unless you need to have a heart-to-heart.

Revolution of the Daleks made an unprecedented and bold move by having Thirteen meaningfully interact with Ryan for the first time, two whole series after he joined the cast. Fortunately for them, on their short hop across the Earth to Osaka, the TARDIS decides to really stretch the journey out.

“Four minutes to Osaka”, the Doctor announces, and absolutely no-one bats an eyelid, despite having recently travelled from Gallifrey to Earth in a matter of seconds. We’re not sure what’s worse, the fact that the companions don’t clock this, or the fact that Chibnall thought the fans wouldn’t!
