1. He Hasn't Always Been Called Tennant

Funnily enough, he isn't even David Tennant at all. Well, he is. He was born David McDonald, though, but had to change it in his teens when, upon attending drama school, it transpired that his real name was already taken by another actor. Damn. As such, he chose the name 'Tennant' (inspired, of all people, by Neil Tennant, frontman of the Pet Shop Boys, after seeing him featured in an issue of Smash Hits magazine) and he has since changed it legally.
