1. Friendly Competition
Like it or not, even the new Doctor Who is getting onseven seasons across eight years, its been around longer than Tom Baker was. Wannabe blockbuster swagger aside, the last 14 episodes have run through pretty familiar 2005-era scenarios. A bit of competition might be just the thing to get the BBC Wales team to step up their game. Think of Russell T. Davies Midnightclearly an attempt to keep up with Blink, and one that paid off in spades. In that way, even a flop could invigorate the parent series. After all, that TV Movie inspired nearly a decade of audio dramas, novels, and comic strips! So call it heretical if you willbut Ive always liked Doctor Who for its refreshing irreverence. By that logic, maybe such a seemingly wrong concept could be very rightand Ive got a crackerjack idea where the Doctor and Babe Ruth battle man-eating baseballs

He has an English degree from the University of Calgary and a Screenwriting M.A. from the University of Westminster, which leaves little space on the wall for his several PhD. rejection letters. His stories and articles have appeared in such publications as NoD and the Cult Britannia website (www.cultbritannia.co.uk). In September he will be speaking at a Doctor Who 50th anniversary conference in Hertfordsire.
