It's ok to lose things every now and then - keys, wallet, phone, stuff like that - but if you can help it, try not to lose a baby.

The Doctor, Rory, River, and the Paternoster Gang all turn up at the Demon's Run military base to protect Amy and her newborn daughter, Melody. Amy and Rory got it on in the TARDIS, so Melody has Time Lord DNA - which makes her very valuable to certain people.

After a fierce battle leaving many dead, the Doctor thinks he's won the day. Instead, he's confronted by Madame Kovarian, who orchestrated Amy's kidnapping. And she looks rather pleased with herself.

The Doctor assured Amy and Rory that their child would be safe, and he failed. He let every parent's worst nightmare happen to his two best friends, and he also lost many lives during the skirmish.

However, when it comes to making promises to parents, this isn't his worst offence...
