4. The 4th Doctor Logopolis
It's the end... but the moment has been prepared for... The Doctor A story that is full of promising beginnings, Logopolis was also to be Tom Bakers last adventure as Doctor number four, after an astonishing seven years in the role! On Logopolis to have his TARDIS chameleon circuit fixed, the Doctor, along with new companions Tegan Jovanka and Nyssa of Traken, as well as recent companion Adric, has to foil a plot by the newly regenerated Master that could undo the universe itself! Logopolis is a fantastic story, from the idea of TARDISes within TARDISes, to the mysterious watcher character, through to the 4th Doctors tragic end. We get Nyssa, from the previous story The Keeper of Traken, as a continuing companion. We are also introduced to Tegan, an Australian air stewardess who wanders, accidentally into the TARDIS. And how can we forget Anthony Ainleys first true story as the malevolent Master. The Logopolis sets are amazing and very unique, and the story itself has so much going on that it keeps your attention all the way to the Doctor's heroic end. But what really sets this story above many of the other Baker era serials, is the 4th Doctors regeneration. After seven years as a fan favorite, they had to make it special. And they did. It was truly sad, yet the look on the Doctors face brought comfort that his adventures would continue. Honorable mentions for the 4th Doctor: The Sontaran Experiment (one of the best Sontaran stories), Terror of the Zygons (The Zygons are one of the most requested monsters that have yet to return), Pyramids of Mars (alien mummies and the evil Sutekh), The Brain of Morbius (Frankenstein in space), The Deadly Assassin (more Gallifreyans!), The Talons of Weng-Chiang (rubbish giant rat, but over all a brilliant story!), The Key to Time season (one long, over all great story), and E-Space trilogy (another good, long story arc). Now, get out your celery, its time for
