Doctor Who: 12 Big Moments When Moffat Delivered The Chills
10. Amy Faces The Zombie Cyberman - The Pandorica Opens
Cybermen have never really lived up to their potential since Doctor Who returned to our screens and they haven't really been creepy since Patrick Troughton's Tomb Of The Cybermen back in 1967. Considering that they are at their most threatening when they appear on mass to covert humanity, it was ironic that the most effective appearance came in the series five finale when Amy faced a lone, zombie Cybermen in the cavern beneath Stonehenge. Amid the cobwebs and shadows, Amy comes across a Cyberman's helmet. She assumes it's dormant. Little does she know that it's trying to wake up and harvest her body for parts. Enter the rest of the Cyberman body, stumbling like a mechanical zombie, Amy desperately trying to escape. It's a thrilling moment that elevated the creepiness of the Pandorica setting and added to the mystery of what was to come. The skull popping out of the helmet is the icing on the cake and proving yet again that Moffat can bring the scares when it comes to Doctor Who.
