Doctor Who: 12 Big Questions About Ashildr's Episodes

12. Is Ashildr The Time Lord Legend That Davros Spoke Of?

In The Witch's Familiar Davros referred to the ancient Time Lord legend of the hybrid between two races, something so terrible it may be the main reason the Doctor fled Gallifrey in the first place. In the shocking conclusion to that second episode we saw the Doctor's Time Lord DNA merge with the Daleks to create a hybrid nightmare. With the Daleks seemingly defeated by their own kind, this might have been the end of that mystery So it was quite a shocking turn of events when the Doctor used the Mire tablet to resurrect Ashildr after she sacrificed herself to save her village from Odin and his alien invaders. Human DNA merged with Mire, she became a hybrid of two races and The Girl Who Died ended with a very prophetic moment as time passed behind Ashildr ending with flames soaring up behind her. Is she the Time Lord legend? Is she linked to the events that took place on Skaro? And what will the mystery mean for the rest of series nine?
