Doctor Who: 13 Cool Details Revealed In Steven Moffat's Time Of Angels Commentary

9. The Tenth Doctor's TARDIS Accidentally Makes A Cameo

During the scene where River flies into the TARDIS at the start of the episode, there's a big, glaring error on the screen that a lot of viewers probably didn't register.

See the TARDIS in the image above? The one that River is aiming for? Yeah, it's the wrong one. During the commentary, Moffat unabashedly points out that this is David Tennant's TARDIS making a "guest appearance" in Series 5, before claiming that he doesn't know whose fault this gaffe was.

The Eleventh Doctor's TARDIS windows are nowhere near as white as the Tenth Doctor's are, as can be seen when the episode cuts to a close-up of Matt Smith opening the doors.

This hardly ruins the episode, but it's actually quite amazing that nobody spotted an error like this. This footage is watched by a lot of people before it gets beamed to your telly! Or maybe somebody did notice it, and it was too late or too difficult to fix.

Either way, it's a funny bit of trivia to bring up on rewatches.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
