Doctor Who: 17 Cool Details Steven Moffat Just Revealed About The Eleventh Hour

Once the Doctor's brand-new TARDIS design has been unveiled, he and Amy circle around the main room for a few minutes and have a conversation.

During this scene, the Doctor fiddles with all the new bits and bobs on the central console - such as a typewriter and a miniature gear stick - and if you look closely at his hands while he does this, you might be able to spot a small continuity error.

Those hands, very clearly, do not belong to Matt Smith, and furthermore, the jacket that's used in the hand-shots doesn't match the jacket that the Doctor wears in the rest of the scene. The image below shows Smith's hands, and what his costume should look like - now compare it to the image above. Even his gold watch strap is missing!

It looks as though these small moments were filmed as pick-up shots when Smith (and the right jacket) wasn't available. Or, the crew didn't feel the need to call in their main star just to record a few seconds of footage.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
