Shortly after escaping the man and his dog, the Doctor and Amy stroll down the main street of the picturesque Leadworth, but the small town's good looks aren't exactly impressive to the Time Lord, considering the limited amount of resources his remote location affords him.

As a result, he starts slagging the town off, lamenting Leadworth's lack of an airport or a nuclear power station, and complaining that the nearby post office is shut.

According to Moffat, this scene was one that Matt Smith performed during his Doctor Who auditions, with Smith replying - in a separate tweet - that the only thing he remembers from said audition... is a goldfish.

Now, the scene does end right next to a duck pond, so maybe there were live fish involved? Who knows.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
