Doctor Who celebrated its 50th anniversary back in 2013 with a feature-length special starring not one, not two but THREE Doctors. And they even look awesome when they're standing in front of a green screen!
John Hurt was introduced as a secret incarnation of the Time Lord in the climactic closing moments of the Series 7 finale, The Name of the Doctor, and fans had to wait 6 months to find out what would happen next. It was worth the wait, though, as Whovians around the globe united for The Day of the Doctor on Saturday 23rd November 2013, exactly 50 years to the day since the show premiered on BBC One.
