Conclusion
Patrick Troughtons performance as The Doctor was fun, original and along with the BBCs team of creative writers, set the template for all who followed in a way that few can claim. As most of his stories were deleted from the BBC archives, many modern Who fans have never seen this great actor at work. It is telling however that current Doctor, Matt Smith cites Patrick Troughtons performance in The Tomb of The Cyberman as helping him to formulate his interpretation of the role.
