Doctor Who: 50 Greatest Ever Stories

28. Doctor Who And The Silurians (Third Doctor)

Silurian_and_the_Doctor The second story to feature the third Doctor, and one of the most controversial titles ever done ("He's not called Doctor Who!" screams every fan ever). Title aside, this is the story that introduced the Silurians, and showed how a story with them should be done, before they decided to go ruin them entirely in the 2010 story "The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood" (shiver) which pretty much recycled the same plot as this story. No rip-off plot and lousy acting and hideously irritating side characters. This time around, it's 7 episodes of Classic Doctor Who awesomeness.

27. Revelation Of The Daleks (Sixth Doctor)

RevelationOfTheDaleks This story, one of the finest to feature the Daleks, also has one of the most elaborate plots of any Dalek story. Davros - the creator of the Daleks - is injured, and repairing himself on the planet Necros. He has a small army of Daleks still loyal to him after the events of Resurrection of the Daleks whom he uses to protect him. Meanwhile, another faction of Daleks loyal to the Dalek Supreme are searching for Davros and find him, and prepare to launch a full invasion force. Caught in the middle of all this is the people of Necros and the Doctor himself, there to pay respects to a recently deceased friend.
