6. Simon Amstell
While Simon Amstell is best known for his stand-up comedy and his presenting on various shows, he has also had some experience as an actor - both comedic and dramatic, each of which are very important for Doctor Who. His primary qualification for dramatic acting comes from the 2011 independent film Black Pond. While the film got very mixed reviews, Amstell's character Eric Sacks was quite interesting, being a rather bizarre character in the midst of a murder story. Finally, he has an uncanny ability while he's interviewing people to make his interviewees very uncomfortable. While this may not sound like an appealing trait - and has gotten him fired from a job before - bear in mind the Doctor is supposed to be an alien who looks human and therefore cannot blend in anywhere... and seriously, Amstell can really pull off looking human while acting nothing like it.
