God forbid! As plausible and relatively sensical as these theories are (kind of... almost... well, not really...), it's most likely that Maisie will be playing a brand new and original character that fans, or the Doctor, have ever met before. Whilst some would argue that Steven Moffat's track records would suggest otherwise, he has still, and rather predictably, tried to throw us off the scent by describing her as "who or what", which could suggest that she's not even human at all. But what sort of person would it take to "challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways"? Apart from River Song, of course, but let's not open that can of wibbley-wobbly worms again. Let's not forget the episode titles, too. The Girl Who Died and The Woman Who Lived are certainly intriguing and, while it hasn't been confirmed if Maisie will be appearing in both, it's safe to assume that at least one of the titles is alluding to her, since they've made such a big deal about the accompanying announcements. Saying that, they might not have anything to do with her at all, which basically makes all of this redundant, but it certainly helps to pass the time by speculating anyway, doesn't it? So... is it autumn yet!? What did you think of this list? Are there any other characters who Maisie Williams could be playing in Series 9 of Doctor Who?
