8. More Two-Parters
Yep, after 5 years at the coveted helm as the
Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat has finally decided to listen to what the fans are actually saying and give them what they want. Isn't peer pressure a wonderful thing?! No, the Eighth Doctor isn't getting his own spin off, but there has been a distinct lack of two-parters around here as of late (Shocking Statistic: The last one, before the Series 8 finale, was 2011's
The Rebel Flesh and
The Almost People) so it's safe to say that another one is long overdue. Well, not really, since there's only just been one, but you know what we mean. And guess what? Series 9 will feature more two-parters than you can shake a stick at it! It'll kick off with one, for starters, in
The Magician's Apprentice and
The Witch's Familiar, which will be followed in hot pursuit by a double whammy by Toby Whithouse and it looks like that'll just be the tip of the timey-wimey two-partery iceberg. And what's "game-changing" about this, exactly? Well, it means that there are good, and that's not to mention narratively extended, times ahead. Amen to that!
