Doctor Who: 8 Other Ways To Celebrate The 50th Anniversary

2. The Light At The End

So you say you're annoyed that the BBC are showing only the 10th and 11th Doctors in the anniversary special? Well, plus whatever the heck John Hurt is playing? Do I ever have a solution for you. How about an original, brand-new story starring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Louise Jameson, Sarah Sutton, Nicola Bryant, Sophie Aldred, India Fisher, and Geoffery Beevers? Yes, Big Finish are releasing a great big audio adventure that might as well be dubbed "The Five Doctors Part Two". The 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Doctors, as well as at least one companion for each one, several other past companions and the Master. Even better, it's available in three different physical versions (including, of all things, vinyl for those of you who really wanna do some time travel), and two different download versions. The story itself is the same between all of these; it's just a matter of what extra special features you get. It won't be released until November so it won't help you kill time now, but I'm sure it will likely drop before the TV version does, and with this much old school Doctor Who goodness, I think we can consider this the REAL 50th anniversary special. By comparison, the TV thing is basically just celebrating 8 years of new Who.
