Doctor Who: 9 Greatest Stories Not Yet Adapted

7. The Doctor and the Movies

hollywoodsized Film in the 1930s was a beautiful, magical, shiny new toy. Talkies were the norm, big stars were blossoming; the Golden Age of Cinema was upon us. Frankenstein, The Wizard of Oz, King Kong, all classics that were made in the 1930s. Now picture the behind the scenes of those movies. It's a whole different monster than today's Hollywood. Now imagine the Doctor, a well-traveled, curious, man-child and his young female companion coming across this Hollywood universe. Maybe they stumble onto a film set and get to live as actors while fighting off an alien invasion of tiny creatures that feed on celluloid? (That's what film is made of.) Or maybe an invasion hits a studio and wreaks havoc on the people involved in the production? So many things can go wrong on a film set that the addition of aliens and the Doctor would be glorious! And maybe it would inspire a TV show 30 years later about a man who changes form and travels through time and space with a companion? Hmmm...)
