The revelation that Missy, the caretaker of the Nethersphere, was in fact the Doctor's childhood friend and current psychopath the Master, was one that many fans had predicted on websites and blogs, yet it was still surprising to see that the Master had yet again found a way to survive what was certain death. Indeed it seems like that is one of the Masters' powers, but isn't that what all Time Lords do anyway? At the end of the Series 8 finale, Missy was seemingly disintegrated by a Cyberman, later revealed to be the reanimated Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (you couldn't make this stuff up). However, if Doctor Who fans know nothing else, it's that the Master always finds a way to come back. With Michelle Gomez (the actress that portrays 'Missy') confirming she will indeed return for Series 9, the question isn't if she will return, but how will she do it? Did she really get destroyed by the Brigadier? Only time will tell. The Master has been known to plan for every contingency, after all.
