Doctor Who: 9 Worst Things The Master Has Ever Done

6. Masterful - Universal Conquest

To celebrate the Master's 40th anniversary, Big Finish created a literally Masterful release.

Big Finish united the Beavers, Roberts, Jacobi and Gomez incarnations, all of whom had histories with the company. But they didn't stop there. John Simm made his Big Finish debut, with actor John Culshaw taking on the Ainley Master. But there is still more. The three-hour special also featured the audio original incarnations of the incredible Alex MacQueen, the alternate universe Mark Gatiss Unbound Master, and Milo Parker as a younger incarnation of the character.

The reason for this mighty ensemble is basically to celebrate the victory of the Saxon Master. He has conquered the universe and killed the Doctor, by throwing her into a sun. Simple really.

However, this has consequences.

As a result of his conquest, the Saxon Master has created a mass entropy wave, destabilising the universe, and actually beginning to decay himself. So the reason for uniting his previous selves is simply to take their lives in order to allow him to continue living.

This all sums the Master up really. As mentioned in the Doctor Falls, in the end if necessary the Master will even stab themselves in the back, but more on that later.

Thankfully, the paradox of the entropy resets the universe, and the Whoniverse can breath a sigh of relief.
