Doctor Who: All Chris Chibnall Episodes Ranked From Worst To Best

This is another episode that should have been significantly stronger than what it was, but was again undone by Chibnall's lecturing and another rushed resolution. It is a mighty shame too, as we are given two of the best new villains that the show has produced in a very long time.

The episode sees a peculiar male figure appearing randomly at different locations, including inside the TARDIS and in Yaz's house, all while Graham is receiving pleads for help from a mysterious entity across space. As The Doctor and the companions go to investigate, they come across a nurse from a 13th century hospital dealing in depression, before finally taking on the villain head on.

The episode takes a clever twist when the actions of the Doctor are used against her, unleashing a villain that will literally give the inhabitants of Earth eternal nightmares. So far, so promising. That's all before the usual sub-standard Chibnall ending with the aliens defeated in the most ridiculously easy fashion, in spite of them being literal gods.

The message about mental health that was integrated subtly into the script is then undone by Chibs, as he takes a sledgehammer to smash the message home. There is also a laughably bad scene featuring Graham and The Doctor, that manages to do something never achieved before in the show's history- to make the Doctor look cold, heartless and completely unlikeable.

While he likes to know himself as the 'thunder from down under', Luke is actually just a big dork who loves all things sport, film, James Bond, Doctor Who and Karaoke. With all the suave and sophistication of any Aussie half way through a slab, Luke will critique every minute detail of films and shows from all eras- unless it's 1990's Simpsons episodes, because they're just perfect
